SCIENCE

Picture
In Key Stage 1 Science is delivered by class teachers and in Key Stage 2 by class teachers or our specialist teacher Mrs Gilham.

The curriculum covers all four aspects required by the National Curriculum: scientific enquiry, life processes and living things, materials and their properites and physical processes.  The table below outlines the topics covered in each Year group.  The subject is well resourced with a strong emphasis on practical scientific enquiry lessons especially in Key Stage 2.

Children’s love and engagement with science has been further enhanced with a fantastic bi-annual science week held covering the three disciplines of physics, biology and chemistry and many cross curricular experiences.  Workshops, special lessons and involvement of families help enhance the love of science for our children.
