How we will measure impact
The school’s Pupil Premium Strategy will be reviewed again each Summer.
- Poor punctuality and attendance of some pupils
- Lack of access to resources at home to complete homework tasks
- SEND issues
- Lack of confidence in core subjects
- Emotional issues that impact ability to focus in class
- Lack of extra-curricular activities such as visits to museums etc due to low family income
- Poor parental basic skills
How we will spend money and why
- Regular checks by welfare officer and Head on attendance and punctuality and incentives to increase attendance to ensure pupils do not miss vital learning.
- Providing pupils with quality homework resources so that are able to complete homework which builds on prior learning in school and aids with consolidation.
- A lunchtime homework club run by a qualified teacher to be attended by invitation to support pupils in consolidating learning and taking part in special creative homework projects that lead to a feeling of pride and being part of the school community
- Lunchtime Mathletics club to support pupils without internet access at home allowing for equal opportunity of access.
- Providing heavily subsidised places at Breakfast club to encourage good punctuality and a calm start to the school day.
- Targeted interventions in core subjects to plug gaps in learning.
- 1:1 and small group tutoring to tackle issues of achievement and progress in core subjects.
- Parent workshops on how to support learning at home to improve parent confidence.
- Employment of a Welfare Officer to support families with issues around welfare, punctuality and attendance which can all impact on learning.
- Provide drawing and talking therapy for pupils to ensure they are in the correct emotional frame of mind to learn.
- Providing free after school activities so pupils can enjoy experiences beyond the school curriculum that they may otherwise not have access to
- Attendance at Gifted Pupil events for high achievers to help ensure all pupils make good progress
How we will measure impact
- Close tracking of pupil attainment data
- Pupil, parent and staff feedback on impact of interventions and workshops.
