Each week your child will have homework set which will be expected to be completed by Thursday. There will be homework set in the CGP books for Grammar and Reading Comprehension. These are provided for you. Some weeks there will also be a Maths homework set. 

The most important way to support your child at home is through reading and phonics. We expect each child to read for a minimum of 10 minutes a day. If you have time, try to read with your child and ask them questions about the story they are reading. This quality, dedicated time set aside to read has a huge impact on your children's learning across the curriculum and helps develop a love of reading which can last a lifetime. Please also access the phonics videos, which are uploaded weekly, so you can help your child with their phonic knowledge as well.

Our Class News This Week – 2nd March - 6th March 2026

This week in English we have been writing noun phrases to describe the things the snail saw on his trip around the world with the whale. We have also been learning about the suffix 'ed'. We know this comes at the end of a past tense word and we learnt three rhymes to help us know how to spell them. See if your child can sing them for you.  In Maths we have been learning about tens and ones in numbers to 50 as well as filling in part whole models. In RE we started our new topic Desert to Garden, we read the story about Jesus in the wilderness and how he spent 40 days and 40 nights there.  We also learnt about the temptations he was given and spoke about what we might be tempted to do when we know that it is no the right choice. You will notice below there are a list of spellings, the children will be tested on these 10 words every Friday. Please can you help your child practice these.
