Each week your child will have homework set which will be expected to be completed by Thursday. There will be homework set in the CGP books for Grammar and Reading Comprehension. These are provided for you. Some weeks there will also be a Maths homework set.

The most important way to support your child at home is through reading and phonics. We expect each child to read for a minimum of 10 minutes a day. If you have time, try to read with your child and ask them questions about the story they are reading. This quality, dedicated time set aside to read has a huge impact on your children's learning across the curriculum and helps develop a love of reading which can last a lifetime. Please also access the phonics videos, which are uploaded weekly, so you can help your child with their phonic knowledge as well.

Our Class News This Week – 19th January - 23rd January 2026

This week in English, we have been learning about comic strips. We have been designing our own characters and learning about the features we need to make our own comic book stories.  In Maths, we have been learning about missing number problems. We have been using a number line to find the difference by counting the jumps. In RE, we have been retelling the story of Jesus getting lost in the temple. We discovered that Jesus was very clever, even more so than the wise teachers that worked in the temple.
