Religious Education

Why is Religious Education important in Catholic Schools?

Religious Education is the "core of the core curriculum" in a Catholic school. Placing RE at the core of the curriculum in Catholic schools helps the school to fulfil its mission to educate the whole person in discerning the meaning of their existence, since Religious Education is concerned not only with intellectual knowledge, but also includes emotional and affective learning.

Ultimately, at our Catholic school we hope to foster an environment where each person who enters knows that:

God is love – this belief is at the heart of our school.

We are loved – God created each and every one of us out of love. He knows and loves us deeply.

We love one another – our mission is to share the love we receive with others.

We see Religious Education as being a key part in this Mission.
