Each week your child will have homework set which will be expected to be completed by Thursday. There will be homework set in the CGP books for Grammar and Reading Comprehension. These are provided for you. Some weeks there will also be a Maths homework set.

The most important way to support your child at home is through reading and phonics. We expect each child to read for a minimum of 10 minutes a day. If you have time, try to read with your child and ask them questions about the story they are reading. This quality, dedicated time set aside to read has a huge impact on your children's learning across the curriculum and helps develop a love of reading which can last a lifetime. Please also access the phonics videos, which are uploaded weekly, so you can help your child with their phonic knowledge as well.

Our Class News This Week – 26th January - 30th January 2026

This week in English, we have completed our comic strips using speech bubbles, thought bubbles and exclamation marks. We also started planning some ideas for our letter that we are going to be writing to Traction Man.  In Maths, we have been learning abut numbers 11-20, we have been looking at different ways we can represent them as well as how many tens and ones they have. In RE, we have been reading the story of Jesus calling his first disciple Peter. We retold the story and acted it out as well as discussed what Jesus meant by 'I will make you fishers of men'.
